With a little delay we are happy to announce the Map of the Month for September: The wall map “South America” by Litografia Artistica Cartografica, which received the first jury’s prize in the category “Educational Cartographic Resources” at the International Cartographic Exhibition at ICC 2011 in Paris.
The first formal meeting of the Commission on Neocartography will take place on September 5 in London, UK. Steve Chilton organizes the session, which starts directly after the Society of Cartographers conference, and will be held from 3.45pm to 7.15pm at UCL. The bilingual map “Bohinj (Julian Alps – Triglav – Krn – Crna prst)” from Slovenia won the first jury’s prize in the category “Topographic maps” at the International Cartographic Exhibition at ICC 2011. The Geodetic Institute of Slovenia kindly provided us with six high-resolution illustrations of their map: Zoom in and get more details on the ICA website!
July’s Map of the Month is the Japanese panorama map “Kii-Kinki 360°”.
At the last ICC the hand-drawn map won the first jury’s prize in the category “Others”.
June’s Map of the Month is the Ukrainian school wall map “France. Physigue. Administrative”. At the last ICC the wall map won the second jury’s prize in the category “Educational Cartographic Resources”.
Map of the Month 05/2012 is the Austrian school atlas Großer Kozenn. The atlas is a product by Ed. Hölzel, an Austrian publishing house founded in 1844. At the last ICC the atlas won the first jury’s prize in the category “Atlases: educational cartographic resources”.
Map of the Month 03/2012 is the Panoramic tourist map of resort Sunny Beach, Bulgaria. The map is a product of DavGEO. At the last ICC the map won the first jury’s prize in the category “Maps for Tourism”.

At the 25th International Cartography Conference in Paris, France, the map “Hiking routes between Salmi and Oittaa (Nuuksio National Park, Finland)” won the second jury’s prize in the category Maps for Tourism.
