COPYRIGHT PROTECTION OF NAUTICAL CHART BASED ON DIGITAL WATERMARK: TECHNIQUE, MODEL AND APPLICATION IN CHINA

The nautical chart production in China has completed the shift from traditional manual pattern into the digital way, and the digital chart is gradually advanced more and more applicable. This paper firstly introduced the present technical base of chart production in China, then the current workflow of digital chart production, and then discussed the technique, model and application of copyright protection of digital chart. At the end, comments and suggestions were offered for the development of digital chart production and its copyright protection in future.

Nowadays the digital watermarking technology is becoming a hot button issue in the field of copyright protection. Based on the similarity between the characters of Human Visual System and that of Wavelet Transform, the paper presents a new insight of digital watermarking algorithm. This scheme implemented the course of watermark embedding by wavelet transform. It is strongly robust without much impact on the origin image.
