At the 25th International Cartography Conference in Paris, France, the map “Panoramic tourist map of resort Sunny Beach, Bulgaria” won the first jury’s prize in the category Maps for Tourism. The jury stated:
Based on a real 3D digital model of terrain, buildings and facilities, which are represented with their actual proportions and visual characteristics. The map is updated every year.
Publisher’s Description: Since 2001, DavGeo studio has begun to work at three-dimensional panoramic maps. The aim of the team is to create a panoramic map based on a real three-dimensional sample of the relief, the landscape and the touristic infrastructure (buildings and touristic objects).
The panoramic map of Sunny Beach resort is made on the base of a real three-dimensional model of the complex, where the landscape and the buildings are represented in their true proportions and visual characteristic. This digital three-dimensional model allows futher creation of different cartographic materials and applications with perfect quality.
In this edition, apart from the panoramic map of Sunny Beach resort, there is also a three-dimensional panorama of the whole Nessebar’s bay, as well as a 3D map of the architectural landmarks in antique Nessebar (UNESCO objects).
