Vice-President
As Professor in Cartography at the Norwegian University of Science (NTNU), and having a genuine interest in maps, ICA is the international organization that covers my academic interests. I have been participating and involved in ICA work since my first conference in Bournemouth in 1991. In the academic world, my cartographic interests are within map animations, maps on the web, maps conveyed through new technologies and efficient map by use of digital media.
At NTNU, I am director of the master’s degree programme in Engineering and ICT, which includes Geomatics. I am also Chairman of ICA’s national membership organization in Norway. This position I have filled for 8 years all together.
ICA is an international organization, and one of its strengths is the contribution by enthusiastic people from different parts of the world. I believe, that my experience from the work in your Norwegian membership organization, together with my knowledge about ICA, will enable me to give a valuable contribution to the work in the Executive Committee.
And I am highly motivated to contribute.
