Abstract:

Landscape ecology is a newly inter-disciplinary, by integrated and holistic thought of the status quo and changes of ecological environment; landscape ecology provides new theory and methods to successfully solve the ecological problems faced by human. The landscape elements arrange in space with different size and different shape is named as Landscape pattern, and it is not only the represent in heterogeneity, but also the result of all kinds of ecological processes at different scales. Through analysis of the landscape pattern indices, we can use of landscape in reason and to adjust the force and manner of human activity. Remote Sensing technology can provide the data in different distinguish in space, in time and in spectrum, and it can provide data sources coming from different time, space and spectrum resolution, and it can also provide economy, shortcut and real-time data sources. Contrast to other conventional measures, Remote Sensing technology has a particular characteristic of speediness and precision.

This article studies on spatial scaling effects of the landscape pattern through analyzing the change of indices with the scale in a small scope and province border scope. In this study, data from AVHRR TM and MODIS are used to produce classification imagery with 6 land cover types firstly, then computing their landscape pattern indices respectively. After this procedure, the differences of the three oriented indices are compared in two scales. The result of the studying including: (1) The change of indices with the scale in the province border scope is obviously more regular than those in the city small scope;(2) With the resolution more and more lowing, there are emergence two special and oblivious key points: 270 m, 720 m, in other words, the landscape pattern indices changes tremendously at those two key points. About the reasons of the two key points need continue study aftertime ;( 3) Test result enunciation, while carrying on small scope exactive dimensions a research of resolution suggests can be lower than 60 m. And the research of thick dimensions suggests can be between 270m and 720m.
