WEBGIS PROJECTS FOR THE KNOWLEDGE OF THE TERRITORY

The CIRCE department of Venice's University IUAV produces databases of geographical data and develops computer technologies to access to the informations. The department had recently developed and published two projects using the WebGIS technology: a system to find and download the pictures contained in the digital archive of the aerial photos of the Veneto region, and a GIS to browse and query the database of the contemporary architecture of the Triveneto region of Italy. The projects make use of high level techniques to deliver to the users the heritage of digital maps and documents owned or managed by the department.
