RESEARCH ON CHINA NAUTICAL CHART INTEGRATIVE UPDATE MODEL AND TECHNIQUE

Since the late 90s of last century, the production mode of China Nautical Chart has changed from traditional manual mode to computer aided digital mode. The new mode which elementarily forms an integrative production mode of digital chart and paper chart could afford kinds of chart productions such as digital chart and paper chart. However, how to update diversiform chart data in the new mode effectively is an intractability problem which has not been solved yet. In this article, the production mode of China Nautical Chart and its characteristics are analyzed, and then an academic research on the update of chart is made with conclusions related to updating technique all over the world, at last an integrative update model and the technique of chart for our country is constituted.
