Abstract
LIDAR - Light Detection and Ranging - mapping generates great edge for future developments, especially in the system components that allow greater sweepings capacity, and in the digital models generation algorithms, propitiating advances in the identification capacity and object classification. The present research used laser mapping and had the goal to arrange for an experience of laser mapping and generation of Digital Elevation Model (DSM) in the quarter of São José, in the city of Recife in the state of Pernambuco - Brazil, comparing with the place’s terrestrial photographs to support analysis urban landscape. Moreover, diverse urban analyses had been elaborated using LIDAR classified data like feature of anthropic objects, as highways, poles, asphalt and sidewalk among others and, natural feature also like trees. Beyond contributing with urban planning, where a great demand of cartographic products is present in the urban places like Recife where it has a great urban increase and the buildings are is densifying all the time, considering this type of conditions this papers intend to show a validation of this application that can be using to urban planning and public administrations.
