The Barbara Petchenik Competition is a biennial map drawing competition for children. The competition is first organized on a national level. The national winners can then compete in the international round, which takes place during the International Cartographic Conferences. This year at ICC2017, 193 drawings from 34 countries were exhibited. An international jury selected 12 winners in 4 categories. There was also a public vote and two creativity awards. Creativity Award
The Creativity Award was presented for the first time this year by the ICA Commission on Art and Cartography.
