The paper discusses the different approaches to the maps in games and in cartography. Combining both approaches is used to design a map board game, which is really a game - Tierra Demonical. Games and maps If you decide to delve into the world of games, maybe you will be surprised of how few steps are necessary to get into the kingdom, where the map is one of the essential tools. Areas, where entertainment meets maps, are inexhaustible. Let’s focus on computer and board games. Game maps - like their real life counterparts - carry important information about the terrain, important locations, paths and other elements with which the cartographer and also layman commonly encounters. However maps in the games still have a major task: To bring players using his imagination into unreal fantasy world, which is in many cases nonexistent fictional environment. Most RPG (Role-Playing Game) can not currently exist without a well-made maps. The players are transferred mostly to a world with its own geography, demography and a mythology. Often contains huge world, which can be viewed on the interactive map, which reveals new records and places as the hero in the game goes. Map is often used to quickly move between different locations, draws attention to important events and becomes the player's information center. Initially trivial game maps began to take over the experience of their adult siblings - real maps. However, it became independent over time and became a peculiar feature which still inspires from real maps and their development. The computer games creators often carried out a detailed studies of historical sources, consult the issues and the broader context of experts from among enthusiasts and professionals alike. Therefore can not mapmakers try to inspire themself from the innovative approach of their gaming colleagues? Educational board games The vast majority of educational board games favors the educational component of the game. The result are often unamusing games that vainly conceal their educational nature. Authors - although often experts in a particular field of education - with no experience in playing modern board games, let alone with their development and production. Leaving aside the traditional abstract games including chess and halma example, awareness is limited to the type of archaic pieces like Ludo, Monopoly. Thus, the results are usually tragic attempts in the style of "roll the dice, go to the field and complete the task." Our trip to Tierra Demonical or Country of demons has several difficult tasks. In particular, introduce the educational board game which is really a game, but does not neglect cognitive and vocational components. - Tierra Demonical is a board game with an educational dimension in cartography. - Using the mechanisms of modern board games that are adapted to the use of games for presentations, conferences and public events. - The game board consists of a real stylized map.
