Abstract
Flash floods are typical natural phenomena endangering local human communities. In respect to their common occurence, quick development and strongly reduced forecast possibilities, disaster managent decision makers ask for reliable documents in a very short time period. Usually, the flash flood development depends on rich precipitation amount fallen during few hours. Other area features eighter support faster flash flood formation, or reduce its development. Available geodatabases combined with topical precipitation data can span together the period between precipitations and real flood in favour of on-time warning. Adequate cartographic visualizing both the geodata base information and precipitation reports paves the way to derivation of understandable maps applicable quickly in decision making. Automated production of precise flash flood risk maps serves protection of lives and values.
