RapGeo: Application developed to help in the georeferencing of images

Abstract
This paper has the objective of to develop and to apply a methodology to realize, this methodology for agile and precise, georeferencing of images. Whole methodological process occurred with the development an application, called "RapGeo" produced with the Visual Basic programming language, application in Microsoft Visual Basic 6.0. As material for analysis, are employed Google Earth images, as the primary information for processing, as well as, some information that image, as coordinates of the upper right and left corners. Thus, was performed georeferencing of three images in three different zoom levels. Subsequent to this process, the georeferenced images were obtained, which were analyzed in 10.1 ArcGIS® application. With the objective of to analyze the possible discrepancies, these were exported from of ArcGIS® to Google Earth, through "LayerToKML" algorithm, the toolbox "Conversion Tools". Like this, the results (georeferenced images) analyzed again in Google Earth checking, the discrepancies. The use of RapGeo is in fact interesting, in view of agility in the process georeferencing of images. It is emphasized the quality of the georeferencing passes by quality input data (on Google Earth), this processing with fundamental responsibility of user.
