Abstract
Due to the increase in capacities of hardware on the one hand and databases on the other hand, it became possible not only to use spatial databases but also to display change of objects in time. This task imposes both software and hardware restriction on created services, as one object can be duplicated repeatedly on time coordinate. Works in the field of spatio-temporal data structures are conducted rather intensively for recent years. The number of publications of the various levels makes more than one thousand. [1] We are on the threshold of the historical moment of transition from 3-dimensional databases to the so-called 3.5 or 4-dimensional database with another dimension in time. Currently the usual well-known tool "magnifier" of the electronic map allows you to change the scale. It can be modernized in the "space-time magnifier", which allows going at same location to different times. In our work we investigate the methodology of spatio-temporal databases creation by making historical maps. References: 1. V.K. Gulakov, E.O. Trubakov, A.P. Boldyrev, B.G.
