Abstract
Quality data is integral to a successful census. Determining the necessary level of quality data however is not a straightforward task. This paper will discuss the complex challenge of assessing each address, boundary, and road feature in the U.S. Census Bureau's database to assign a series of quality indicators to ensure the database can support a national census in 2020. Attaining adequate confidence in this geospatial data is necessary to help contribute to the decision of how to avoid a full nationwide address canvass operation thereby containing costs. Discussion of how each quality indicator is calculated and assigned will be covered as well as the implications of these quality scores.
