Abstract
Geographic information is increasingly important to the society, its use is in constant growth reaching unimagined levels a few years ago, one of the main factors contributing to this development is the technology associated with Geolocation and its multiple means of access for the common citizen, the state, the defense and in general for decision-making in several areas. An example of this is the exponential growth in the creation of national or regional spatial data infrastructures, that are currently under development, it is expected that these will allow in the future not only to share geographic information efficiently, but manage to make it a real contribution to sustainable development of a region, country, a community, etc. In the same field the importance of controlling the quality of geographic information in SDI`s born, depending on the relevance of their use and decision-making at various levels. Thus geographic information available in SDI`s of any level should be standardized with appropriate quality controls and include this information in their metadata. So we must mention the importance of corporate SDI’s that will manage geographic information in cartographic institutions or companies efficiently and effectively, achieving a better management performance and lower costs by optimizing resources in terms of Geographic Information. The following work proposes a model of how would be this normalization and control based on the rules of the TC/211 and future prospects that will manage, evaluate and make better use of Geographical Information at national, regional, but mainly corporate level which is the basis for the success of SDI’s larger scale.
